Event ID 2087 — Cannot resolve name of a partner AD

A domain controller could not solve another controller needed to replicate via DNS.

Source of event

NTDS Replication — Active Directory category.

Possible causes

• Invalid AD DNS
• Absence of SRV/A registration
• DC deleted or unavailable

Verifications to be carried out

1. Tester ns 2003up from DC
2. Check DNS AD areas
3. Run dcdiag / test:dns
