Probable causes

  • 1998/98 VSS error
  • COM rights or register
  • dependent service failure
  • Conflict Backup var.

Verification and resolution

  1. Launch vssadminlist109
  2. Identify the relevant « Criminal » or « Criminal »
  3. See Application around, Event ID 813
  4. Restart only the service or the relevant year, if the procedure allows
Precaution: Avoid re-registering all DLL VSS massively without a specific diagnosis.
